Susan Messersmith, trumpet

Susan Sievert Messersmith is a professional classical trumpet player, and was a member of the Charleston (SC) Symphony Orchestra  from 1993 to 2007.  A graduate of the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music and the Eastman School of Music, she holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Performance. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Charleston Southern University, teaching trumpet and conducting the Brass Choir. 

Susan is an active freelance musician, performing regularly at concerts, weddings and church services, and has recently performed two trumpet recitals, and a solo with the Southcoast Symphony. 

As a contractor, Susan is available to hire brass quintets as well as other ensembles (winds, strings) for weddings, concerts, and other events. These groups perform under the name of Charles Towne Brass.
